PLASTIC BOTTLES, tin cans, cardboard, egg cartons and individual coffee creamer cups provided  the materials to create the winning entries in this year’s Trashformations contest. Students at Coal City Elementary School were provided an opportunity to create a sculpture from recycled materials for entry into the countywide contest sponsored by the Grundy County Environmental and Resource Conservation Office. SEVERAL MEMBERS OF THE community packed into the council chamber at City Hall on Friday afternoon for the Police and Fire Board meeting. The commissioners were there to retroactively issue certificates for 10 BPD officers.
