Danny M. Polniazek

WILMINGTON—Danny M. Polniazek, 76, of Wilmington, formerly of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born Sept. 5, 1947 in Joliet, Daniel Matthew was a son of Chester and Margaret (Marolt) Polniazek. He was raised and educated in Joliet, graduated from Joliet Central High School with the class of 1965, and attended Joliet Junior College. Danny was a gifted musician, which allowed him to perform professionally as a solo act and in duets for many years. Music was his true passion and he especially enjoyed playing and listening to folk music, with the Kingston Trio being his favorite performers. Danny also took pleasure in trying his luck at the casinos from time to time, and had a special place for all animals in his heart. He was the most honest and considerate person you would ever meet, and will be remembered for being an excellent listener and for his dry sense of humor.
Survivors include his brother and sister: Chet and wife (Susan Edwards) Polniazek of Houston, TX and Maureen (Greg) Carboni, of Wilmington; two nieces, Suzi Polniazek and Debbie (Sam) Taylor, both of Houston; several cousins, including Larry (Donna) Tomasic, of Joliet and his long-time friend and music partner, Fran Rinaldo, of Downers Grove.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
Per his wishes, cremation rites are being accorded and the family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date.
