Steven Pierard

COAL CITY—Steven M. Pierard, 58, of Coal City, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Steve was born Sept. 24, 1959 in Joliet, to Gerald V. and Patricia A. (nee Jones) Pierard.
He was raised in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School in the class of 1977. He married Mary A. “Gigi” Goley at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church on June 6, 1981. Steven was an electrician with the IBEW Local #176 and retired after 35 years in the industry.
Steve enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of Little League Baseball, including the World Series. As a pass time, he liked to watch television, especially game shows and poker tournaments. He also enjoyed playing golf, but Steve's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gigi; his daughter, Sabrina (Blake Marketti) Pierard, of South Wilmington; his son, Brendan Pierard; his mother, Pat Pierard and his siblings: Vicky (Keith) Roseland, Tina (Paul) Jakubowski and Scott (Cari) Pierard, all of Coal City, and numerous nieces and nephews. His first grandchild is also expected in the fall.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry.
At Steve's request, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services. A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held at a future date.
