Thomas A. Wainscott Sr.

WILMINGTON—Thomas A. Wainscott Sr., 61, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2018 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Born Feb. 4, 1957 in East Chicago, IN, Thomas Alan was a son of Charles Weldon and Mary Margaret “Marge” (Kozolowski) Wainscott. He was raised and educated in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Central High School with the class of 1975. On July 24, 1976 Tom married Donna Marquez and together they made their home and raised their family in Wilmington.
Tom was a member of the American Legion Lodge #1080 in Joliet, the Wilmington Recreation Club, St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington and formerly belonged to the Moran AC in Joliet. He was also an active member of the Wilmington VFW Honor Squad. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and trap shooting.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Jennifer (Bret) Czys and Thomas A. Wainscott Jr. both of Wilmington; two grandsons, Brendan and Blain; sisters, Joyce Wainscott (John Mozga) and Carol (David) Vollmer, both of Joliet; sisters-in-law: Paula Wainscott, of Wisconsin; Sharon Marquez, of Joliet; Carol Chinderle, of Braidwood; Lori Eib, of Crest Hill; Kimberly Pemble, of Minnesota and Susan (Fred) Sikita, of Lockport; several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 between the hours of 4 and 8 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 E. Kahler Rd. in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 604 S. Kankakee St. in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Sebastian Gargol officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
