The Chicago Worlds Fair, or Columbian Exposition was one of the largest and most culturally significant events to ever take place on US soil when it was held in 1893. The Fair was attended by over 27,000,000 visitors over the six-month span between May and October, with a daily average attendance exceeding 150,000. Visitors to The Fair were among the first to enjoy many products and experiences that are familiar to us today including Juicy Fruit, Shredded Wheat, Crackerjack, Edison's Kinetoscope's moving pictures, and the “Chicago Wheel” which became known as the Ferris wheel.
