Janice Scully

COAL CITY—Janice M. Scully, 73 of Coal City, passed away peacefully at her home on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on July 20, 1951 in Murfreesboro, TN to William H. and Mary Frances (nee Agent) Horn. She married Patrick A. Scully on Dec. 19, 1984 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they raised their daughter, eventually settling in the Coal City area. Janice worked at Harrah’s Casino greeting guests at the front desk. For Janice, her family was the most important part of her life. Her grandchildren were her light and pride and joy. She loved attending their events such as cheer competitions, concerts and dirt racing.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Jeremy Hanna) Scully; her grandchildren: Natalie and Brent Hanna; her sisters: Rita Sears, Jessica Kennelly, Sharon Bedno, Denise Horn, Tracy Spaniel and Michelle Horn and her brother, Ricky Horn. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Frances Horn and her brother, Wesley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Janice’s name to Hanna Racing which sponsors her grandchildren’s race cars.
Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 3, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Ferrari Funeral Services, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL 60416.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
