Step back in time at a 1925 inspired Hallowe'en Party

Travel back to a time of flickering jack-o'-lanterns, candelabra-lit dinners, and ghostly games at a Hallowe'en celebration inspired by an actual party hosted in Wilmington nearly a century ago.
On Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m., the library will be transformed for a Hallowe'en Party inspired by the legendary 1925 gathering hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Blake.
Guests are encouraged to come dressed in 1920s attire or vintage-style Hallowe'en costumes and enjoy an evening of food, refreshments, traditional games, and eerie fun. The festivities will include a two-minute ghost story contest, with a prize awarded to the most spine-tingling tale!
As part of the immersive experience, each guest will receive an official invitation featuring a historical character assignment, either someone who attended the original 1925 party or someone who could have. There is no acting required, just enjoy stepping into the past for an evening!
Signup is required. Please call the Wilmington Public Library District at 815-476-2834 to reserve your spot.
