As the village of Coal City enters the final month of its fiscal year, a new budget has been drafted. The upcoming financial plan points to a 23 percent reduction in expenditures.
Village Administrator Matt Fritz reports a large potion of this planned reduction is related to one-time capital expenditures, specifically the elimination of any additional rail within the industrial project at Broadway and Reed Road.
